"The time for symbolism has passed. The Ocean Coordination Mechanism must be the nerve center for decisive action", Dr. Didacus Jules, Director General of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).

The Ocean Coordination Mechanism (OCM) Steering Group meets for the first time on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, Under the slogan: Our Sea, Our Source, Our Future, The Wider Caribbean: United in Action, this meeting brings together countries and organizations to safeguard the region's precious and valuable marine ecosystem.

Fully aligned with the theme of this year's Oceans Conference (UNOC3) to be held in June this year: “Accelerating action and mobilising all actors to conserve and sustainably use the ocean”, the OCM is more than just a commitment, this meeting is the opportunity to strengthen collaborative work and focus on what is important: real actions, real results and effective measures to address the challenges facing these fragile and vital ecosystems.
