The Mid-Term Meeting of the UNDP/GEF “Protecting and Restoring the Ocean’s natural Capital, building Resilience and supporting region-wide Investments for sustainable Blue socio-Economic development” (PROCARIBE+) Project Board is convened on 02-03 June 2026, in Bogota, Colombia

The meeting is being convened to: review project performance to date, including financial and technical implementation progress, and issues & risks, review, and approve the project’s revised Work Plan and Budget, inform the Board of preliminary recommendations from the Project Mid-Term Review and inform Project Board on progress with project communications, monitoring and evaluation, and social and environmental safeguards.

With a total of 69 participants, representing 18 States and Territories (of which 16 GEF-Eligible PROCARIBE+ participating countries) and 19 Organizations, and Chaired by Colombia, the meeting objectives were: reviewing project performance to date, including financial and technical implementation progress, and “issues & risks”, reviewing and approving the project’s revised Results Framework, Work Plan and Budget, informing Project Board on progress with project communications, monitoring and evaluation, and social and environmental safeguards and exploring opportunities to enhance coordination with other donors, projects and programmes. The Decisions and Recommendations of the meeting were adopted and certified by The Chair.

With a total of 76 participants, representing 26 States and Territories (of which 17 are GEF-Eligible PROCARIBE+ countries) and 18 Organizations, and Chaired by Panama, the meeting objectives were: officially launching the PROCARIBE+ Project Board and rebuild momentum/commitment amongst project primary beneficiaries and core partners, introducing the project and raise awareness on the Project Strategy, Objectives and anticipated key Activities, Outputs and Results, reviewing and approving the proposed Project Governance and Implementation arrangements, including Project M&E, Risk Management and Safeguards and reviewing and approving the proposed way forward for project implementation.

The PROCARIBE+ Fourth Project Executive Group (PEG) Meeting took place on April 15-17, 2026, in Panama City, with the primary objectives of reviewing co-executing agreements progress, evaluating risks and mitigation measures, agreeing on 2026 milestones, discussing topics for the Mid-term Project Board Meeting, enhancing communications to showcase achievements, and reviewing reporting and project management requirements.

The PROCARIBE+ Third Project Executive Group Meeting (PEG) was convened online on 25 November, 2025. The objectives of this meeting were to: review technical and financial progress of the Co-executing Agreements (CEA), finalize pending social and environmental safeguard instruments and Management Effectiveness Tracking Tool and agree on use of collaborative tools for sharing documentation.

The PROCARIBE+ Second Project Executive Group Meeting (PEG) was convened online on April 30, 2025. The objectives of this meeting were to: prepare for the Second PROCARIBE+ Project Board Meeting in June, review technical and financial progress of the Co-executing Agreements, provide an update on progress with social and environmental safeguards, address any questions/doubts on technical and financial monitoring, identify topics for “focused discussion” and a tentative meeting calendar.

The PROCARIBE+ First Project Executive Group (PEG) Meeting took place on December 4-5, 2024, in Bogota, Colombia, with the primary objectives of establishing the PEG for technical coordination, promoting joint ownership of the project, agreeing on a monitoring scheme for co-executing agreements, presenting UNOPS, GEF, and UNDP requirements, and identifying synergies among partners.
