PROCARIBE+ is supporting the advancement of traceability in the wider Caribbean region.

This workshop brought together participants from the OSPESCA and CRFM regions to share experiences across languages and varying levels of traceability implementation. This cross-language collaboration on lobster conch and shrimp management demonstrates how PROCARIBE+ is facilitates ecosystem based management, reducing effort fragmentation.

Traceability allows regulators and consumers to understand every actor involved in bringing fish from the sea to the plate. Traceability results in healthier fish stocks, stronger economies, reduced (IUU) Illegal Unregulated and underreported fishing and higher levels of food safety.

Workshop Outputs:

The Development and Harmonization of Regional and National roadmaps for Traceability implementation.

Thank you to the participants and OSPESCA and CRFM for their work towards more resilient and sustainable blue economies.
